Canada PR News

Canada PR’s latest draw, which was held on 16th September 2020, was its 163rd Express Entry draw.

This Express Entry round endowed candidates, who had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 472, with ITAs. The preceding express entry round which took into account all programs, had a cut-off of 3 more points than the latest one.

This round’s CRS cut-off plummeted to a large extent. In its totality, an astounding 4,200 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for Canada PR were issued in this draw. In a matter of 2 weeks, Canada conducted its 2nd all-program draw. This trend is very much alike to the pre-pandemic express entry rounds where these were held in a bi-weekly pattern.

This draw is harmonious to the 4,200 ITAs being issued in a single Express Entry round which was held on 2nd of September, 2020. This deemed it to be the 2nd largest draw ever! The biggest one, however, witnessed the issuance of 4,500 ITAs on 19th February, 2020. The multitude of invitations getting issued is a clear signal that Canada is keen on welcoming more and more no. of immigrants in 2021 and in the coming years also.

A definite number of the best scoring candidates are offered an ITA for Canada PR through the invitation draws. These rounds usually occur every 2 weeks and the large majority is inclusive of the candidates belonging to the Express Entry programs.

This round summed up the number ITAs issued this year to 74,150. Candidates scoring over 472, or the ones who scored exactly 472, bagged an ITA in this round.

A job offer is not compulsory for eligibility reasons under the Express Entry system. But the CRS gives additional points to candidates having a job offer. The Canadian Government generally ensures a processing norm of 6 months for Canada PR applications.
